Now that we all have a happy Madness tune in our heads, we can also be happy that we know what the third instalment of The Dark Pictures Anthology will be.
As you have likely divined via the headline, it will be entitled House of Ashes.
This latest one from Supermassive Games looks to be shaping up as another super-creepy tale, but with another completely different setting to those of Man of Medan and the just-released Little Hope (read our review of that here).
This one’s set in the final stages of the Iraq conflict in 2003, where a raid on a suspected underground chemical weapons facility eventually leads to sinkholes opening up and thrusting our protagonists into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. “In the darkness beneath the Arabian Desert, something evil is awakened. Savage and unstoppable, a nest of ancient and unearthly creatures has a new prey to hunt.”
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is slated for a 2021 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One.
