If you’re into shooter games, then you’re likely into Tom Clancy. Ubisoft have now detailed the forthcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
It’s work time again for elite US Special Ops unit the Ghosts, however this time they’re stranded behind enemy lines and are facing a formidable foe.
This one’s set on the island Auroa, where the high tech meets untamed nature. It’s the home of tech giant Skell Technology, but it’s fallen into enemy hands – those of a bunch of gone-rogue Ghosts calling themselves the Wolves. They’re led by Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, who’s played by The Punisher himself (well, one of them) Jon Bernthal, who’s no stranger to video games, having previously heeded the call to appear in an instalment of a certain other big shooter franchise.
So, amongst other challenges, you have to infiltrate and deprogram a bunch of drones that have been set to “kill”. Naturally, everything conspires to make the job harder and harder…
Ubisoft are promising thousands of customisation combos, and regular updates after launch to deliver new story arcs, classes and other features.
Just below you’ll find a CGI trailer for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, soundtracked by a mournful rendering of Radiohead’s already rather mournful Karma Police.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is set for release on PS4 and Xbox One come October 4.
