Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk is set to see two of his classic games reborn in the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.
Both original PlayStation games have been given the full-on remastering treatment by Vicarious Visions, who recently did the same for good old Crash Bandicoot with their Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
The release sees all the graphical bells and whistles pulled out, including 4K where the host system supports it, and all the original levels, pro-skaters, old-school tricks and more bumping (and grinding) with new recreated levels. Awesome news is that there’ll be online multiplayer amongst other upgrades to bring these ~20-year-old games into the now.
Says Hawk of the upcoming re-release: “The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is a big factor in the evolution of modern skateboarding tricks and inspiring many of the pro skaters you know and love today. I’m excited to help inspire a new generation of skateboarders and gamers – and existing
fans – to grow the sport even further.”
Those original Tony Hawk’s games were also known for their killer soundtracks, and good news is that many of the tracks from back in the day will make their way to this double whammy release, including jams from the likes of Rage Against the Machine, Primus, Bad Religion, Papa Roach, Naughty by Nature and more.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is scheduled to land on PS4, Xbox One and PC from September 4. You can pre-order now from JB Hi-Fi.
