Epic’s game development system Unreal Engine 5 has just gone into full release, and as part of their launch keynote we discovered that a new Tomb Raider game is in development.

If you haven’t seen any demos of UE5, then you may not know why that news is so exciting. Tomb Raider has always pushed the envelope, but with this shiny new engine under the bonnet we’re surely going to be looking at the most realistic Lara Croft experience yet.

Here’s a recent demo of Unreal Engine 5:

As for Tomb Raider, the news was announced by Crystal Dynamics franchise general manager for the game, Dallas Dickinson. He also said, “Our goal is to push the envelope of fidelity and deliver the high-quality cinematic action-adventure experience that fans deserve from both Crystal Dynamics and the Tomb Raider franchise.”
