The original wrestling video games were simple, silly and fun pick-up-and-play affairs. WWE 2K Battlegrounds aims to bring those days back, with a 21st century edge.
Planning to be even more over the top than the WWE usually is, the roster will include more than 70 WWE superstars and legends at launch, with more to come later. Eight environments will feature, and commentary will come from Mauro Ranallo and Jerry “The King” Lawler.
There’ll be plenty of modes, from local or online exhibition matches to an all-in, last-person-standing affair and a campaign that will see players competing for a WWE contract (that’s in-game, not in real life, of course).
WWE 2K Battlegrounds is set to hit the ring on September 18 for PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
