Xbox have cracked open the champers, donned party hats and blown those annoying whistle things to go all out in celebration of their 20 years on the planet.

Celebrations have included several cool announcements, as well as a special performance featuring classic Halo music from the Sydney Youth Orchestra, which went very much like this:

Speaking of Halo, big news is that the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta is available right now – three weeks early – and it’s free to play. Players can get into season one content, which includes all maps, core modes, Academy features, and Battle Pass. Great news is that any progress will carry over into the full Halo Infinite launch on December 8. Pre-order now at JB.

Meanwhile, over 70 original Xbox and Xbox 360 games have been given backwards compatible makeovers, and are available today. These include the entire series of Max Payne and Skate games, as well as some classic Xbox Star Wars titles. Nice!

Happy birthday Xbox, and thanks for all the pressies!
