STACK’s Roving Reporter takes five with Alex Tuttle at JB Home Fyshwick, ACT.
What’s the best thing about working in games at JB?
Definitely having a new challenge every day, and being one of the first to see new products that relate to myself. I love gaming, and if it’s taught me one thing it’s that there are people like me everywhere that I go, and being able to work in an area I love allows me to meet more and more people who have the same interests.
What’s your earliest video gaming memory?
I wasn’t allowed to play many games as a child, so when my dad brought home a PC for me to play some games on, I went wild! I stayed up all night playing Star Wars Battlefront II (OG version). It felt magical – I still remember the old creaky desk the computer was on.
What’s your all-time favourite game series?
BioShock, for sure! I love seeing a dystopian world under the sea AND above the sky. Like, that’s absolutely creative! The game itself has so much hidden lore and I find it all so fascinating.
What are you playing currently?
Cyberpunk 2077. I’ve always been a fan of the cyberpunk genre, so having a game that’s literally named ‘Cyberpunk’ is a dream come true!
What would be your desert island console?
My PC. I’d play right under a sweet little palm tree on a desk I made with palm tree leaves and rocks.
