Apple have let loose information on a slew of new products, with details on the iPhone 13 range, new iPads and the Apple Watch Series 7.
The standard model of the new iPhone 13 features water resistance, protection via ‘Ceramic Shield’, which they claim is “tougher than any smartphone glass”, a new cinematic mode that adds shallow depth of field to videos and shifts focus automatically, 5G, longer battery life and an improved night mode.
All of this is run via the A15 Bionic, which Apple claim is the world’s fastest smartphone chip. There’s also a Mini model. The iPhone 13 and 13 Mini will be available in red, pink, blue, “starlight”(white) and “midnight” (black), with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of memory. September 24 is launch day.
Then there’s the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. Touted as the biggest upgrade to the Pro camera system, they deliver advanced low-light performance, macro photography, a cinematic mode, ceramic shielding, extended battery life and more. Those who invest will be able to stare lovingly at a Super Retina XDR display featuring ProMotion, all running on the A15 Bionic chip. They’re coming in “Sierra Blue”, gold, silver and graphite, with memory sizes ranging from 128GB up to a whopping 1TB.
The new Apple Watch Series 7 boasts the largest display on Apple’s wrist accessory yet, and they claim that it’s also the most advanced. Crack and dust-resistance are very useful features – demonstrated by a bit of a stack in the video below – as are new health monitoring features, plus it apparently charges up to 33 per cent faster than previous models. No release date has been confirmed as yet.
All the power of the A15 Bionic chip comes to the iPad in a smaller, more pocket-sized form. Yes, the Mini is back and, able to fit in the palm of an average hand, it’s an all-screen (no button) design with an 8.3″ Liquid Retina display. It also boasts “Superfast” 5G connectivity, an ultra wide front camera, stereo speakers, USB-C, and it will work with second generation Apple Pencils. September 24 is the day, when a standard-sized upgraded iPad will also launch.
