The new Arlo Essential Indoor Camera includes a simple but effective feature to double your security – an automated physical privacy shield.
Naturally if you’ve installed a camera you’ve done so to keep an eye on things – be it when you’re out, or situations such as the kids in another room. But sometimes when you’re home you may want your privacy. When the Arlo’s privacy shield is disarmed, recording, motion and audio detection is disabled, and won’t be enabled until the shield is opened by the user via the Arlo app. It can also be programmed to open automatically and begin recording by starting a live stream or changing the camera to arm mode. You decide when the camera is monitoring a room and recording, and when it isn’t.
This comes on top of classic Arlo features such as full HD recording, motion detection phone alerts, two-way audio, a built-in siren, a 130° viewing angle and compatibility with Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT.
