What: Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K Projector
Why: We’re closer than ever to being able to recreate all the good things about the cinema experience at home, without the bad stuff like constant chatter, mobiles pinging away and unsavoury odours. The Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K Projector brings home some serious projection power, with a super-bright 2400 ISO lumens – that’s so bright that you can watch the projected image with the lights on, and all with crystal clear 4K image quality. Meanwhile, dual 5W tweeters deliver the goods in the sonic department and Android 10 opens up a whole world of streaming options. You also get the benefit of portability, as the unit’s automated setup for optimum picture quality is a snap, while an ergonomically designed handle allows you to take your Cosmos anywhere, from room to room to a mate’s place or beyond!
Who: If you’re looking to seriously upgrade your home cinema, and want the added advantage of being able to take it anywhere, then the feature-packed Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K Projector is a solution that’s hard to go past.
What: LG Gram EVO 16″ WQXGA Ultra-Lightweight Laptop
Why: If you’re on the go and need to take computing muscle with you, why lug a behemoth around when there are high-powered wonder machines like the LG Gram EVO ultra-lightweight Windows 11 laptop? Weighing a mere 1.19kg, it still manages to pack in features that include a 16-inch 16:10 WQXGA (2560 x 1600 resolution) IPS anti-glare display, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, plus it’s all run by a blisteringly fast 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P processor. Just because it’s super-portable doesn’t mean that you miss out on the ports that you need to get things done, with HDMI, two Thunderbolt 4.0, two speedy USB-A 3.2 and even a Micro-SD reader. The top features don’t stop there though, with a built-in webcam, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and an impressive 22 hours of battery life.
Who: If you’re somebody who craves portability in a laptop, but without sacrificing computing oomph, then LG’s feature-packed Gram just may fit the bill perfectly.
What: Sonos Ray Soundbar
Why: Soundbars are the quickest and easiest way to add better sound quality to your television viewing experience – be it movies, TV shows or gaming – but not everybody has the space to safely mount or perch one. Or, you may wish to bolster the audio from a smaller screen. Soundbar masters Sonos have come to the rescue of the space challenged audiophile, with the arrival of the Ray. Brilliantly compact at only 22 inches wide, it’s also designed to be tucked away in an entertainment unit or bookshelf, with all speakers pointing towards the front. Just because it’s compact doesn’t mean to say that the Ray lacks power though, with four Class-D digital amplifiers delivering solid bass and crisp dialogue that’s been tuned by Hollywood experts. Plus, it’s super-easy to set up, and you can easily expand down the track with surround speakers, a subwoofer and more.
Who: If you want powerful sound but your space is tight, or you have a specific nook in mind that everyday soundbars just wouldn’t fit – like a bedroom shelf – the Sonos Ray may be the one that’s just right.
What: Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 ANC In-Ear Headphones
Why: Growing up in Australia, we reckon everybody’s favourite uncle had a pair of classic Sennheiser headphones with yellow earpads. The brand continues to be an innovative force in delivering audio to our ears, and their latest earbuds, the Momentum True Wireless 3, are no exception. They’re packed with proprietary tech that allows such small speakers to deliver astonishingly clear and punchy sound, from their acclaimed TrueResponse transducer system to aptX wireless and ANC (active noise cancellation, to shut out anything beyond what you’re listening to). Top performance means nothing if it feels like you’ve jammed bricks in your ears, so you’re in for a treat from these light and ergonomically designed buds. Add wireless charging (seven hours per charge), six mics for comms, customisable touch controls and even IPX4 splash resistance and you’re all set for a wonderful world of personal sound.
Who: If you’re not one to skimp when it comes to enjoying your portable sound, then why not go all the way with an example of some of the best earbuds that are available today?
