Got a big space to fill? Just one of the new beauties announced by LG is a 97-inch model in their OLED range. Looking for something a little smaller? A whopping 42 new models have been revealed.

It seems that 42 is now the answer to life, the universe, everything AND television choice!

As well as going bigger, LG’s 2022 range goes brighter, and gets arty with the new ART90 Lifestyle range. All of the new models are rolling out from May through June, save for that 97-inch beastie which is due in October. Let’s have a quick look at what’s hot…

OLED

LG 2022 TV

LG continue their reign as the leader in OLED technology, with a range of 15 models to choose from for those who want the absolutely best picture possible.

Two new screen sizes join the range, which now stretches from 42-inches – perfect for the gaming rig, as pictured above – right up to that massive, we-want-one 97-inch behemoth.

This year’s models see LG’s OLED evo technology employed in more models than ever, with it joining the G2 and super-popular C2 range. This means enhanced brightness, thanks to a new manufacturing process, as well as a beefier processor – the Alpha 9 AI Processor (α9Gen5) – for getting that ace 4K action happening in quick-smart style. The result? Even more realistic images, with greater clarity and detail than ever.

LG’s WebOS has also been updated for 2022, as has the Magic Remote, which can even let users mirror content from an NFC-enabled Android smartphone, or Apple AirPlay 2-equipped iPhones, iPads or Macs.

Those getting into OLED for gaming will now gain NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, as well as the handy Game Optimiser and Game Dashboard functions for quick adjustment of gaming features, including VRR, ALLM and eARC. Cloud gaming features have also been added across the whole 2022 LG TV range, offering support for NVIDIA GeForce NOW, which currently has 80-plus games.

If 4K just doesn’t have enough pixels for you, then you may wish to go 8K. In that case, LG offer their Z2 in both 77- and 88-inch models. That’s a resolution of 7,680 x 4,320, with 33 million self-emitting pixels bringing your vision to life.

Lifestyle OLED

Meet the LG ART90, a new idea in OLED entertainment. It can be a television, or a lifestyle information screen, with a remote-controlled sliding panel that raises or lowers. That panel features a fabric cover, designed by Danish textile whizzes KvaDrat, and when lowered gives you a 65-inch LG OLED evo screen, complete with an 80W, 4.2-channel sound system.

QNED

LG 2022 TV

LG’s premium LED TV range also sees big advances this year, combining two of the best LED/LCD TV technologies out there, Quantum Dot and NanoCell.

QNED delivers hundreds of backlighting dimming zones, resulting in the TV having more precise control of brightness, deeper blacks and ultra-high contrast ratios.

Whether you’re after 4K or 8K, there’s something for you in the four new QNED Mini LED models, ranging in size from 65- to 86-inches. The LG QNED Mini LED TVs now include Precision Dimming on 4K units and Precision Dimming Pro+ technology on 8K models, giving users bright and clear images brought to screen via 1,200-2,000 individual dimming zones. Aided by Cinema HDR to unlock brightness, colour and detail in HDR movies and games, it’s the go if you’re after an LED tech TV.

Nanocell and 4K UHD

LG 2022 TV

If you’re on a super-tight budget, there’s no need to skimp on TV quality, with LG’s 4K NanoCell and 4K UHD entry-level TVs still offering rich viewing from 43- up to 86-inches.

As with the entire 2022 range, these work seamlessly as an entertainment  hub, integrating all of the top streaming services for access at the wave of the Magic Remote via webOS 22, with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support where available.
