There’s much to like in Oppo’s newly launched flagship smartphone, the Oppo Find X3 Pro. If you’re considering a top of the range device, you’ll definitely want to check out the cutting edge features on offer here.
The first thing of note is its striking unibody back. It’s a continuous piece of glass precision shaped via over 700 control points. This distinctive design makes a feature of the camera module, which is housed within a stylish raised contour. There are two colours available – gloss black and blue. Aside from the deep polish that gives the back a ceramic feel, it’s been given a fingerprint repellent treatment. The curved casing is not just about the look – the entire housing has IP68 water and dust resistance.
The Find X3 Pro foregoes the periscopic zoom lens of its predecessor – an Ultra-Wide and Wide lens are its two main cameras. Both are 50MP and utilise the Sony IMX 766 Sensor for consistency.
The third camera is a 3MP Microlens boasting up to 60x magnification. There have been macro lenses before, but nothing close to this level of magnification. Along with its own built-in ring light, the Microlens will expose users to a whole new world of photography.
The fourth camera is a 13MP Telephoto with 20x digital zoom. For those who love selfies, the X3 has a 32MP front camera, giving it the same performance as a main camera. For comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy S21+ 5G has a 10MP equivalent camera.
With the X3 Pro, you can shoot 4K, 1080p, and 720p at 60fps and also 30fps.
The Oppo Find X3 Pro is the first Android device to adopt the 10-bit full path colour management system, for video and still images. In context, a conventional 8-bit image file has 256 levels for each of the red, green and blue colour channel – that’s a possible 16.7 million colours (256 x 256 x 256). The X3 Pro’s 10-bit capacity has 1,024 levels per channel for
Over 1 billion colour possibilities – a virtually infinite palette for unmatched vibrancy.
The colour innovation doesn’t stop there. Oppo has also introduced AI tools for further image enhancement. For example, the AI Palettes can analyse the colour profile of any picture on the phone and turn it into a custom filter for use. There’s also Cinematic Mode, which gives video footage a pro filmmaking treatment thanks to AI processing.
At 6.7 “ and 525 PPI (pixels per inch), the X3 Pro’s overall resolution of 3216 x 1440 is what you expect from a true top-end smartphone. It also boasts impressive specs for brightness and contrast. For this outsized display to work without compromise, Oppo’s O-Sync Engine ensures the display and processor response is only a few milliseconds – the kind of increased performance perfect for giving gamers an edge.
The refresh rate is also adaptive, from 120Hz for high intensity gaming, to as slow as 5Hz for an e-Book. This optimises power consumption by 46 per cent.
The Find X3 Pro comes with Qualcomm’s most advanced chip ever – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. It supports 13 types of 5G bands, so you should get coverage just about anywhere in the world where the network is available. It has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and the OS is based on the Android 11, the latest version to date. Plus Oppo has further collaborated with Google for customised actions via Google Assistant, such as voice command for setting up Screencast.
The Find X3 Pro features a 4,500mAh battery that Oppo claims will last for up to two days. Oppo was the first smartphone manufacturer to make fast charging available, and the Find x3 Pro introduces SUPERVOOC 2.0 65W, their latest fast charging technology that delivers 40 per cent charge in ten minutes. It also has a 30W wireless charge for full charging in 80 minutes.
