TCL have detailed their new premium C835 TV series, with the promise of unprecedented display quality thanks to some cool new tech under the bonnet.
One of the biggest advancements comes via the backlighting in the Mini LED-driven C835 range, which includes 55”, 65” and 75” panels. TCL’s advanced fourth-generation backlighting system involves an advanced innovation that they’re calling OD20. What is it? Well, the distance between the backlight system and the LCD panel is 20mm, which has the TV giant promising “incredible contrast and enhanced picture quality”.
Another feature is what’s billed as “Direct Drive”, whereby the TV’s LEDs can change state so quickly that shadows on moving objects are eliminated. Meanwhile, round halo diodes replace the regular square ones, allowing more effective light control, minimising the halo effect – also known as blooming – where brightly lit parts of the image bleed into darker parts.
Add features that every gamer will love such as 144Hz variable refresh rate, ALLM – that’s “Auto Low Latency Mode”, which automatically switches the TV to gaming mode when you turn your console on – and HDMI 2.1 connectivity, plus rich Onkyo Audio that supports Dolby Atmos, and you’re looking at a very impressive spec sheet.
