Fundamentally similar to a Foxtel or Apple TV set top box, Fetch TV consolidates free-to-air TV channels, subscription streaming services, movie rental and purchase, catch-up apps, YouTube and more into one central entertainment hub.
A Wi-Fi enabled Fetch TV set top box is available in two types – the Mini and the Mighty. Which one you choose depends on how seriously you take your viewing. For the casual viewer, the Fetch Mini offers a single tuner with 7-day EPG, TV and movie store, limited streaming services, and free-to-air catch-up channels, plus the option to add extra premium entertainment channels like BBC First and MTV Classic for a low monthly fee.
The more dedicated television and movie buff will want the Fetch Mighty, which offers all of the above as well as 4K Ultra HD streaming support and the ability to pause and rewind live TV. But the big uptick here is a quad tuner PVR with a 1TB hard disk drive, allowing recording of up to 585 hours of SD content and six channels simultaneously. There is also a ‘series tag’ option that will automatically record every episode of your favourite shows and store them in an easy-access folder.
Both the Fetch Mini and Mighty have multiroom support, enabling you to connect up to three boxes together and access TV channels, movies, streaming services (with just one subscription), and share recordings from whichever rooms you choose.
All you need to get started is a Fetch Mini or Mighty box, a broadband internet connection and a free-to-air TV antenna – and installation couldn’t be simpler! Connect the antenna cable to your set top box and enable internet access via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable to your modem, and then go fetch what you want to watch.
