Wowoweewow, this crazy week is nearly done. See it out the door with a boot in the butt from Tim’s 5 tunes – including a bonus round, ‘cos you deserve it.
Run The Jewels, 2100
It’s been a tough week for some Americans. With that in mind, hip hop duo Run The Jewels have rushed the second single off their upcoming Run The Jewels 3 to ease the pain. The band left this message on their social media pages:
For our friends. For our family. For everyone who is hurting or scared right now. Here is a song we wrote months ago. We weren’t planning on releasing it yet but… well it feels right, now. It’s about fear and it’s about love and it’s about wanting more for all of us. It’s called 2100. We hope it finds you well.
Love,
Jaime and Mike
Alex The Astronaut, Already Home
Looking for another track to add to your summer road trip playlist? Look no further – Alex The Astronaut has got you sorted with this cruisy little number.
Mura Masa, Love$ick featuring A$AP Rocky
How do you make an already great tune better? Chuck Pretty Flacko on it. Tropical vibes and Rocky’s chill flow have made what is bound to be one of summer’s biggest tracks.
Zeds Dead, Too Young featuring Rivers Cuomo & Pusha T
When I was younger I caught my little sister eating cheese and peanut butter on toast. Two things that should not be together. It was very weird to me. Then I tried it, and it was surprisingly tasty. What I’m trying to say is that no one ever expected Rivers Cuomo of Weezer and Pusha T to work, but it’s excellent.
Amy Shark, Adore
This is possibly the nicest song I have heard this year, from the Gold Coast native. Produced by M-Phases, this hauntingly romantic tune is off of Shark’s excellent EP The Little Sleeper.
Bonus Round
If you’re not acquainted with Jon Sudano yet, that needs to change right now.
