Death Angel Humanicide album coverEver since their reunion in 2001, Death Angel have gone from strength to strength. Each successive album has been better than its predecessor and the trend continues with Humanicide.

Everything about the album is impressive – the songs, the performances and the production – making it one of the band’s best.

What strikes me the most is the energy. Here is a veteran act, playing with an urgency and intensity that younger bands could only dream of, writing material that their peers only wished they could match. If you are a fan of thrash metal, do not ignore Humanicide. A contender for album of the year? It might just be.

Humanicide by Death Angel is out now via Nuclear Blast/Caroline.
