Since the release of her infectious first single Try in 2017, all eyes have been on Hatchie, the project of Brisbane’s Harriette Pilbeam.
Keepsake comes off the back of relentless touring for Pilbeam and her band, but instead of sounding fatigued, they bring an energy that translates into 10 tracks that already feel like ready-made classics. Guitars and synths deftly weave together to create mesmerising soundscapes across the album, with tracks like Her Own Heart and Unwanted Guest particularly impressionable for the atmosphere they conjure.
It’s obvious here that Hatchie’s hypnotic blend of dream-pop will no doubt continue to charm many and see her soar to great heights.
Keepsake by Hatchie is out June 21 via Ivy League.
