Here on their eighth studio album the band’s highly charged lyrics remain as relevant as ever, with tracks Thought Contagion and Dig Down directly addressing the Trump administration. While there’s more of a focus on synthesizers, the band’s progressive rock roots shine first on the triumphant Get Up and Fight and later on the staggering Blockades. Every Muse album also has its tender moment, with Something Human showing us singer Matt Bellamy’s softer side.
Ultimately, if there’s anything you take away from Simulation Theory it’s that no one does epic stadium rock quite like Muse.
