Lovingly compiled by Seekers historian Graham Simpson and his daughter Mahlia, this rarities collection gathers the group’s versions of Blowin’ In The Wind, Waltzing Matilda and Kumbaya, as well as two tracks backing Frankie Davidson, jingles for Coca-Cola and radio station 3AK, plus every song from 1967’s historic Myer Music Bowl show.
It’s a celebration of pure talent. The Seekers became the first Aussie band to top the UK and US charts not because of any studio trickery but because they were simply a fine singing group. The cover says this is Volume 1. We look forward to more.
Hidden Treasures by The Seekers is out now via Decca/ Universal.
