To mark its 40th anniversary, Bob Marley & the Wailers’ seminal album Exodus is to get a deluxe reissue in June.
Available in a variety of formats, the centerpiece of the reissue is a ‘restatement’ of the original album by the reggae legend son’s Ziggy Marley.
Exodus 40 – The Movement Continues is described as “his vision of how his father might have accessed these songs today”. For example, One Love features a new lead vocal assembled from out-takes and ad libs, while a new more R&B flavoured music bed was recorded for Turn Your Lights Down Low.
For those with deeper pockets, there will be a four-LP Super Deluxe set, which includes the original LP, Exodus 40 – The Movement Continues, an Exodus Live set recorded at London’s Rainbow Theatre the week of the album’s release back in June 1977 and the Punky Reggae Party LP which features a previously unreleased extended mix of Keep On Moving.
