Ice-T’s metal/hip hop collective Body Count have released a typically uncompromising video for No Lives Matter, the latest track to be shared from their upcoming new album Bloodlust.
The video features a spoken introduction by the hip hop icon who says: “It’s unfortunate we even have to say black lives matter. If you go through history, nobody ever gave a f-ck. You can kill black people in the street, nobody goes to jail, nobody goes to prison.”
The sixth studio album from Body Count is due out on March 31 and promises to be a scathing state of the national address for the new Trump era.
“Music happens in climates,” says Ice T. “Groups like Rage Against The Machine and Korn were born when the world was in turmoil, then music went into this delusional period where hip-hop became about nothing more than poppin’ bottles. Now we have impending doom again, racism is at an all-time high and it’s our season again. This is the optimal time for a Body Count record.”
