Metal icons Danzig have announced a May release for Black Laden Crown, their first album of original material in seven years.

Details are sketchy at this stage, but it looks as if the new record from Glenn Danzig’s seminal outfit will feature long-time guitarist Tommy Victor and former drummer Joey Castillo.

The release of Black Laden Crown – the follow-up to 2010’s Deth Red Sabaoth – coincides with the 25th anniversary of their breakthrough album Danzig III: How The Gods Kill, so keep your fingers crossed for a deluxe reissue of that gem.

We’re also waiting on news of a covers album entitled Danzig Sings Elvis, which was apparently completed last year, but doesn’t appear to have surfaced yet.
