Metal icons Deep Purple have unveiled details of their new studio album InFinite.
Due out on April 7, the follow-up to their chart-topping 2013 LP NOW What?! is produced by Bob Ezrin (Alice Cooper, Kiss, Lou Reed) and the first single to be released from the record is Time For Bedlam; check out the lyric video below.
Quizzed about the meaning of the title, Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan muses cryptically: “If you take it literally you may, quite reasonably, think the ‘Finite’ part of the word describes the life of Deep Purple, with a clear beginning and a nebulous end. But what of the ‘in’ bit? The word infinite is a three-dimensional double edged sword. It describes something that goes on forever in all directions.”
Gillan is joined on the album by Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey and Steve Morse. InFinite will be released with a bonus DVD documentary about the making of the record.
