By definition, it was the event you didn’t want to miss as an all ages crowd battled the scorching Melbourne sun in Flemington yesterday at the ever expanding FOMO Festival.
Now one of Australia’s premier touring festivals, FOMO preached ‘One stage, no clashes, party together’ as their creedo, and that’s exactly how the day played out. Local acts MIMI and Carmouflage Rose warmed up the crowd, Cosha (who later re appeared with Mura Masa) was the surprise package of the day and homecoming hero Anna Lunoe, beat wizard San Holo and Canadian ring ins Loud Luxury had everyone bouncing.
Replacing Lil Peep (visa issues) was Amine – and promoters would have been wondering why they hadn’t booked him from the start – the guy can do no wrong. The penultimate headliners were Mississippi brothers Rae Sremmurd, the rap duo briefly stopping half way through the set so security could fix the barrier before resuming their wild set. Before long, the Queen Nicki Minaj played and conquered and closed out the festival.
