Oscar and Grammy award winning composer Hans Zimmer is embarking on his first Australasian tour.

Best known for the soundtrack work and his album tribute albums, the artist will bring his Hans Zimmer Revealed show to Australia and New Zealand in May.

The Australian leg of the tour will kick off in Sydney on May 2 and will continue on to Melbourne (May 4), Brisbane (May 6) and Perth (May 8). Ticket presales begin today.

The concert will be in two parts, with the first devoted to some of Zimmer’s most memorable movie scores including Gladiator, The Lion King and Pirates Of The Caribbean. The second part features re-imagined versions of his music from the likes of The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception, which will be performed with special guests from the rock and pop worlds.

“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled to visit Australia and New Zealand,” he says. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.”

During his distinguished career, Zimmer has scored more than 120 films, winning an Academy Award, two Golden Globes, three Grammys and a Tony.
