Lady Gaga is well and truly back: following on from the news that she is to star in a reboot of the classic A Star Is Born, she has also revealed that a new single Perfect Illusion will be released next month.
No word yet on when the single is actually released or of her long-awaited new album, but the brief announcement alone was enough to send her devoted Little Monsters into social media overdrive.
Her fans were also delighted to learn (via her Twitter account) of her big screen lead role opposite Bradley Cooper in a remake of A Star Is Born; it will also mark the latter’s directorial debut.

The original A Star Is Born was released in 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor as the aspiring Hollywood actress who falls for Fredric March, an alcoholic leading man whose career is in decline. Judy Garland and James Mason took the leading roles in the classic 1954 musical remake, while Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson headed the cast of the most recent version released in 1976.
