BIGSOUND logoBIGSOUND – Australia’s festival/conference knees-up to celebrate the best in new, homegrown music – will be upon us in QLD’s Fortitude Valley from September 3-6, 2019. In the lead-up, we’re putting a few questions to the most promising names who’ll be performing. Click here to see more chats with the acts we think will own this year’s BIGSOUND!

Anna Ryan, Scarlett McKahey, Neve van Boxsel, Jaida Stephenson and Pip Gazard comprise one of the most impressive new alt-grunge acts you’re going to hear this year, and in case you didn’t notice, their band name kicks butt – don’t you ever say that Canberra isn’t cool.

What sets your music apart?

Our music is made up of so many different genres and influences mixed together. We’ve taken our favourite elements out of rock, pop, punk and mashed them all together to make our own sound.

Which movie scene would your latest single suit?

Just replace the music from the opening scene of The Sound Of Music with See You In A Bit, and there you go.

Give us your best useless fact – about yourself, or the world.

The skin on your elbow is called your wenis, and it barely has any sensitivity. If someone licks it while you not looking you won’t be able to notice. (Please try this at home.)

Which BIGSOUND acts are you looking forward to seeing?

There are way too many to list, but we’re so super excited to see Dulcie and Flossy for the first time. You will also definitely catch us boogying to FRITZ, MID CITY and Cry Club.

What should we look out for on your post-BIGSOUND horizon?

We have got so much lined up it’s crazy! We’ll be finishing our tour by doing headline shows in Melbourne and Canberra. We’ve got lots of festivals you can catch us at like Spilt Milk and Lost Paradise. And we might be sneaking back into the studio later this year…

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers play The Foundry on Tues Sep 3, and The Outpost on Thurs Sep 5.
