A band, a TV show, a prodigal curiosity; Sydney’s “premier punk outfit” These New South Whales are all geared up to spread their blend of punk, metal, new wave, and goth all over your sandwich. Here’s frontman Jamie.

What sets your music apart?

It’s punk, but it’s not punk.

Which movie scene would your latest single suit?

The Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street barber scene.

Give us your best useless fact – about yourself, or the world.

I love musicals.

What can we expect from you at BIGSOUND?

You can expect us to blow haircuts clean off everyone’s heads, AKA another day at the office. If you’re wearing a hat, I recommend bringing one with a chin strap.

Which BIGSOUND acts are you looking forward to seeing?

I am looking forward to seeing Gauci, Party Dozen and Pinch Points.

What should we look out for on your post-BIGSOUND horizon?

Our new Album I Just Do What God Tells Me To Do, is out later this year.

These New South Whales are playing Family on Wednesday Sep 4 at 11.20pm.
