Swedish pop palindrome superstars ABBA never actually broke up – it’s just been 40 years since they last released new stuff. But that’s about to change…

An all-new 10-track album, Voyage, is on its way, and two songs have been released from it overnight.

In a tongue-in-cheek official statement, the band said: “They say it’s foolhardy to wait more than 40 years between albums, so we’ve recorded a follow-up to The Visitors.”

That’s not all the great news, though, for… ABBA are touring!

It won’t be your typical planes, trains, limos, hotels, burnout type tour, though, for the canny Swedes have employed virtual representations of themselves – ‘ABBAtars’ (heh!) – from their 1979 heyday for a virtual concert, also named Voyage. The funky threads that they’re showing off in the pic above are motion capture suits, used to record their every ABBAesque move.

The 22-song concert is set to take place in London on May 27 next year, in ABBA’s very own purpose-built Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and we daresay that it will be broadcast in some form so that everybody around the world can get to see it.

The first video below features interview snippets with Benny and Bjorn, vision of all four band members in the studio, plus a look at the making of the live show:

Next up, the first of the two new songs that arrived, I Still Have Faith in You:

And the second, Don’t Shut Me Down:
