Adele has given us the tiniest sliver of her first fresh sounds in six years, teasing a clip of her new song Easy On Me – and the internet can talk of nothing else.

The London siren posted a black and white clip to Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, which spends a mere 21 seconds depicting the popstar loading a cassette into a car stereo. The tape bears the song’s title on a hand-written sticker.

We see her heavily-shadowed eyes peeping at us in the rearview mirror, before a piano begins its plaintive tune (the track’s intro) and Adele hoons off down the road, a trailer full of house-stuff bumping along behind her.

The mini-scene matches with fans’ guesses that Adele’s next album 30 will be about the break-down of her marriage to ex-husband Simon Konecki, whom she married in 2016 and from whom she filed for divorce in 2019. The former couple share a son, Angelo, who is nearly ten years old.

The full audio of Easy On Me will be out next Friday, October 15.
