Yes, Francis Trouble is the name of the new album from Albert Hammond Jr, and it hits this Friday.

A taster for the fourth long-player from he of The Strokes is out and about already. It’s entitled Far Away Truths, and here it is…

The title explores a topic that’s incredibly personal to Hammond Jr – the stillborn death of his twin brother, Francis, and the effects that this has had upon both his life and his music.

“What the music says may be serious,” says Hammond Jr, “but as a medium it should not be questioned, analysed or taken too seriously. I think it should be tarted up, made into a character, a parody of itself. The music is the mask the message wears and I, the performer, am the message.”

Meanwhile, we await further news as to another album from The Strokes, and whether Rick Rubin will be involved as was mooted last year.

Francis Trouble is out Friday March 9 via Red Bull Records.
