Baker Boy has unleashed a new video for his current single Meditjin, which features New Zealand rapper JessB.
The song’s title means ‘medicine’ in BB’s native language of Yolngu Matha.
As for the video, it was filmed at Melbourne’s National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), and was directed by 23-year-old Sydney director Gabriel Gasparinatos. He previously worked on the Cool As Hell video.
Baker Boy says, “The video for Meditjin was such an exciting process to work through, the concept blew my mind, so I was just so pumped we managed to pull all the elements together. I mean filming in the NGV seemed like it was an unachievable vision, but Kate and the team were so on board with the concept and were great to work with!”
He continues, “The small things in this video make me so excited, like having my brother, Adam, and cousin, Tristan, in the clip. It wasn’t really planned, but the timing worked out, so it was like ‘Why not?’, they were so excited too! We had such an incredible team for this video from the team at the NGV, to the dancers, stylist, makeup artists, everyone was unreal, and it was great working with Gabe and Entropico again. I’m just really excited and pumped to release it and share it with everyone! I’m really proud of it and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do!”
As 2019 winds up, Baker Boy will be performing at Falls Festival nationally, as well as Port Macquarie’s Festival of the Sun.
