No, we’re not advocating any form of revolt, rather Be a Rebel is the title of the new song from indie stalwarts New Order.
It’s the band’s first new material in five years, and bears a familiar air. It’s also more than a little reminiscent of the band’s Bernard Sumner’s collaboration with Johnny Marr, Electronic.
Says Sumner of the new track: “In tough times we wanted to reach out with a new song. We can’t play live for a while, but music is still something we can all together. We hope you enjoy it… until we meet again”
Meanwhile, those into classic era New Order will be thrilled to hear that a definitive collection is being released for their album Power, Corruption and Lies on October 2. It’s set to contain the album on vinyl, plus two CDs and two DVDs. With the album remastered, masses of demos, radio sessions, two full gigs and TV appearances, it’s set to be one super-desirable release. At the same time, classic 12″ singles Blue Monday, Confusion, Thieves Like Us and the Caligula sampling Murder will also be re-released.
