The Bigsound people are preparing for their first ever virtual programme, and they have some heavy hitters onboard.

The show must go on, and while it’s hoped that this will be the first and last virtual version, there’s already a lot for us to look forward to on October 21 and 22.

Heading the first keynote presenter announcement is the prolific Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Prophets of Rage, the Nightwatchman), who will be offering an exploration of his life as both a muso and activist.

Says Tom: “Join me at Bigsound to talk music, activism, and how the guitar can be a divining rod for truth and justice. The world is at a dangerous crossroads and it’s time to feed the poor, fight the power, and rock the f–k out.”

On top of Tom – uh, not literally – Bigsound will also be hosting in-conversation sessions featuring the likes of Kev Carmody and Amy Shark, as well as a keynote presentation from Tones and I. Other speakers already announced include Rhoda Roberts, Ziggy Ramo and Mumu Fresh.

Add to all of the above sessions with industry vets and a lot more to be announced at the end of September, and the completely free virtual Bigsound 2020 is set to defy the state of the world and still deliver an incredible two-day event.
