Now in its 17th year, the place to be to discover new music – Bigsound – has unveiled the first batch of artists who’ll be appearing at the festival this year.

Set to take place across four nights in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley from September 4-7, the first 75 acts live up to the festival’s aim of offering exposure to the hottest new Aussie acts, while also featuring previous festival faves that have gone on to do great things.

The final line-up has been whittled down from a record 1,133 applications this year.

These artists (plus some 75 or so others to be announced later) will play in front of labels, publishers, agents, festival bookers and other industry types. Like previous recipients Stella Donnelly, Alex Lahey and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, all 2018 artists will be eligible for the Levi’s Music Prize, which is $25,000 in prize money and $5,000 in travel to help spread their word internationally.
