As Courtney Barnett and band continue to conquer the world with their gloriously grungy pop noise, they’re picking up some pretty impressive fans.

We’re not talking the type that keep them cool on stage in a a literal sense, either, but the types of fans who are just plain cool. Like Kim and Kelley Deal of The Breeders, who popped on stage with Courtney in Belfast at the weekend for a spot of power walking – and to supply backup vocals on the slammin’ troll-tackling single Nameless Faceless.

Mind you, The Breeders were also there to perform, plus Kim Deal kind of did the backing vocals on the song in the first place.

Courtney was appearing at the BBC’s ‘The Biggest Weekend’ on Friday night, sharing the stage variously on the evening with everybody from Manic Street Preachers to Beck and Orbital.
