In 2015, a supergroup of some 1,000 musical types got together and let loose the loudest version of the Foo Fighters’ Learn to Fly this side of an actual Foos gig.

It was done in a bid to get the band to tour their hometown of Cesena, Italy – and it worked, with Dave and the boys dropping by later the same year and ripping through a 27-song set.

Here’s the vid in question – the vid that’s now amassed almost 44 million hits…

Anyway, the collective – known as Rockin’1000 – aren’t stopping there. They’re now preparing for That’s Live 2018, an arena spectacular featuring what has to be the literally biggest band in the world (we’d best be careful, KISS might sue us for copyright infringement) performing “18 of the most exciting songs in rock history.”

As you’ve likely gleaned from the headline, Courtney Love will be a special guest at the event, to be held on July 21 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence. She’ll be there to “sing some songs by Hole”.

Not only are Rockin’1000 looking for an audience, they’re also looking for new members. If you’re keen – and you’d have to be to schlep your gear to Italy – you can find out more here.

Meanwhile, here’s a rather peculiar, Clockwork Orange-inspired promotional video for the event…
