Well, PM Lars Løkke Rasmussen didn’t give the whole band to President Widodo, but he did give him a Metallica box set.
Let’s face it, diplomatic gifts are, well, diplomatic, and usually aren’t anywhere near as cool as this. However, knowing that Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo is a huge metal fan – he’s been spotted in Napalm Death T-shirts for starters – Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen decided to give the gift of metal.
Isn’t it great that we’re not talking about cutlery or goblets?
If the just-released Master of Puppets box set wasn’t enough, the PM just casually got Metallica drummer – and great Dane – Lars Ulrich to personally autograph it.
The set is quite stunning, too. Individually numbered, the box includes three vinyl records, 10 CDs, two DVDs, one cassette, a hardcover book, a folder of handwritten lyrics, six button badges and a “Damage, Inc.” lithograph.
Rock on, Jokowi!
