Seattle’s Great Grandpa – that’s the band, not anybody’s actual great grandparent – have dropped a new single.

Entitled Mono no Aware, it’s a taste of their forthcoming sophomore album, Four of Arrows.

Apparently it’s inspired by the works of Nobel Prize in Literature recipient Sir Kazuo Ishiguro, peering into childhood mysteries and loss of innocence to make sense of an elusive present. “It is an admission that we, as thinking, feeling beings, are always in a state of beautiful loss,” explains Great Grandpa songwriter Pat Goodwin.

Four of Arrows is set to arrive on October 25.
