Not content with unleashing a shiny new album – Brain Candy – upon the world, Hockey Dad are accompanying it with a breakfast cereal.
Really! Well, sort of.
With two zombie-themed ‘Alive at the Drive-In’ album launch gigs happening, one on July 31 and the other the following night, the band have added to their merch canon with something quite unique.
Not only have they created created their own Brain Candy breakfast “cereal” (it’s actually candy), if you’re in NSW there’s a chance that it may actually be delivered by one of the band members, for free!
It’s a pretty sweet deal, with the one=off release week cereal package limited to 500 units, and including a Brain Candy CD, edible Brain Candy “cereal”, Hockey Dad playing cards, a Hockey Dad bum bag, a Hockey Dad hacky sack and a Hockey Dad sticker.
“We believe all Australians are entitled to an imbalanced breakfast made with 97% whole-brains and we intend on making sure they get it. Big corporations have been feeding kids sugar for breakfast for years, why stop now?” said the band’s Billy.
Meanwhile, those who can’t get to the drive-in shows will be able to live stream the first ‘Alive at the Drive-In’ show exclusively on YouTube on album release day, July 31, from 8.15pm (AEST).
