Those surf rocking, wacky funsters Hockey Dad have found a way to bring their live wares to a locked down world, with a little help from the undead.

They’ve teamed with The Pinheads for an “Alive at the Drive-In” double feature “zombie apocalypse style event” on July 31 at the Bulli Showground in Wollongong.

So, rock up in your car, find a sweet spot to park, lock your doors, tune in your FM dial and do the in-car mosh as Hockey Dad launch their shiny new album Brain Candy in ghoulish style.

The album has already given us I Missed Out, Itch and In This State, and has a lot more cool tunes in store for us. It’s set to be unleashed upon the world on the very same day of the event. Pre-order it here from JB.

Tickets are set to be very limited, with only 400 car spots able to enter the event, so get in quick. Tix can be purchased here from Thursday, May 28 and things kick off on the night at the family-friendly time of 6pm.

Says the band about the upcoming experience: “It’s super exciting to be able to play a show again. The drive-in aspect will make it such a new experience for everybody. The fact we can bring back live music in this way is so cool. It’s a mixture of old school entertainment crossed with a weird futuristic apocalypse vibe.”
