Jumping into the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame pool

Every year a bunch of acts – all of which must have first released their debut single or album over 25 years previously – are shortlisted for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Every year only a handful actually get voted in.

Now this year’s potential inclusions have been unleashed, and – as is generally the case of late – they stretch the “rock & roll” part of the title.

Those with a chance for Hall of Fame immortality come the event in Cleveland on May 2 next year are:

Pat Benatar
Dave Matthews Band
Depeche Mode
The Doobie Brothers
Whitney Houston
Judas Priest
Nine Inch Nails
The Notorious B.I.G.
Rufus featuring Chaka Khan
Todd Rundgren
Thin Lizzy

Several of these, including Depeche Mode and Judas Priest, have previously made the big list. Keep on plugging away, guys!

A public vote is open until January 10, 2020, from which a shortlist of five acts will be formed. These will join the thoughts of hundreds of artists and music industry types to arrive at the final list of inductees.

If you’d like to put your two cents’ worth in, you can vote here.
