Hmm, perhaps we should clarify that. Noel Gallagher has collected a lot of music gear since the early days of Oasis, and he’s decided to part with some of it.

Maybe Supernova Heights is getting too chockers with stuff? Maybe he’s become a neat freak? Maybe he’s short of a quid? Maybe he just really wants to help other musos out with some cool equipment?

Whatever the reason, over 50 items  – labelled ‘The Noel Gallagher Collection’ – will go up for sale on Reverb come October 2. This includes a bunch of Vox, Fender, Marshall and Orange stuff.

“When you’ve been playing as long as I have, you tend to amass a huge amount of gear, and it’s not doing me or anyone else any good if it’s just sitting around,” Gallagher told the site. “These pieces have a lot history, but they’re still very playable — I’d love to get them into the hands of someone who will put them to good use.”

Meanwhile, Gallagher has just announced that a new 11-track album from he and his High Flying Birds, Who Built the Moon?, will be heading towards our ears this November 24. It will feature a few of his mates from down the pub – including some bloke called Paul Weller and another one named Johnny Marr (yeah, we’re taking the proverbial, for of course they’d be a certain supremo of The Jam and the legendary guitarist from The Smiths, respectively).

Here, have a trippy album trailer…
