To honour the legendary Prince, his estate and the Pantone Color Institute have combined to create a special shade of his signature colour purple, known as ‘Love Symbol #2’.

Once a brand name that only designers knew about, Pantone has crept into the greater consciousness in recent years. This colour, based on the shade of purple that Prince’s custom Yamaha piano was decked out in, will be used in future for all official representation of the musician’s rare legacy.

“The colour purple was synonymous with who Prince was and will always be,” said Troy Carter, the entertainment advisor to Prince’s estate. “This is an incredible way for his legacy to live on forever.”
