Thumbing its nose at COVID, Splendour in the Grass is going virtual this year, with a phenomenal local and international line-up.

Set to take place on the weekend of Saturday July 24 and Sunday July 25, it’s been labelled Splendour XR, for “extended reality”, and will be available on mobile, tablet, browser, desktop and – very cool – VR.

Check out this killer line-up, all of whom will be delivering live sets recorded especially for Splendour XR:

Day 1 – Khalid, Chvrches, Denzel Curry, Duke Dumont, Tash Sultana, Masked Wolf, Russ Millions, Band of Horses, Little Simz, Violent Soho, Aurora, Phoebe Bridgers, Vera Blue, Pink Sweat$, Client Liaison, Griff, Pond, Tayla Parx, Dune Rats, Methyl Ethel, The Chats, Triple One, Cat & Calmell, King Stingray, The Southern River Band

To add to the experience, punters will be able to build their own virtual self to navigate “an imaginatively embellished but faithful recreation” of Splendour’s classic Byron venue. Check out the vid below for a taste.

As well as delivering a top music, art and festival experiences, XR will also be raising funds for live music industry workers, mental health and wellbeing, and sustainability.
