When Supergrass were announced on the Groovin the Moo line-up earlier this week, even those amongst us who thought we’d hung up our festival (gum)boots for good considered making the trek out to the touring regional festival’s nearest location come April/May.

Now, guess what! The band have also announced a string of sideshows in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong and Brisbane!

Furthermore, Supergrass have recruited Melbourne’s own Rocket Science for these Australian sideshows.

The Britpop legends reformed last year – after a ten-year split – to tour the UK, Europe and North America in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their debut album I Should Coco, and we’ve gotta admit we got the hump because Australia wasn’t initially included on their schedule.

But now our prayers have been answered! After his band’s “intense week of rehearsing” to prepare for their reunion shows, Gaz Coombes said Supergrass were sounding “pretty amazing”: “It’s like our legs are tied with rope. It’s quite bizarre, but I guess that chemistry never goes away.”

This quote reminded us of the band’s matchless Pumping On Your Stereo video (watch below, you’re most welcome):
