Alblum cover art for The 1975 with white vinyl record popping outManchester’s darlings The 1975 have dropped a corker of a new single, along with the news that a new album is coming in October.

Part of the Band is a string-chugging arrow to the heart, which gives us a sincerely Paul-Simon-and-Bon-Iver-on-either-side-of-the-confessional-booth feel. It’s a beaut piece of observational art from a group who have previously headed down the synthetic path; fans will undoubtedly be salivating over what’s in store for this new, more analogue era.

It’s the first single from the band’s fifth album Being Funny in a Foreign Language, which we predict might land at #1 just like their previous four albums did (including most recent LP Notes on a Conditional Form from 2020).

Being Funny in a Foreign Language by The 1975 is out October 14 via Dirty Hit.
