If it’s good enough for Bowie, Elton and Queen, then it’s bloody well good enough for The Who, who now have their very own official five pound coin.
The iconic British band are the latest to join the Royal Mint’s ‘Music Legends’ collection, with a design that incorporates many symbols synonymous with the band, such as a Union flag, mod logo and speaker-smashing Rickenbacker guitar, all in the form of a pinball table.
Several variations are available, from silver or gold through to a specially coloured coin.
That’s Roger Daltrey up top proudly showing off the natty silver, red and blue number, and looking quite chuffed about it, too.
Said Daltrey, “When I first saw the design I thought, ‘How imaginative’. I mean, it just sums up, in one visual, The Who.”
