‘Zoo Twilights’ at the Melbourne Zoo offers a funky way to catch some great music in a non-typical setting. The 2018 shows have been announced, and there are already some sell-outs.

Taking place every weekend between Friday, January 26 and Saturday, March 10, it took just half an hour for tickets to The Cat Empire, Ben Folds and Neil & Liam Finn to run out. They’ve all announced second shows, so if you’re keen it would likely be advisable to get in quickly.

Just below is a list of the shows that are still available (at time of writing), all of which are all-ages. Tickets are on sale now from zootwilights.org.au and remember, proceeds from every one that’s sold through them goes back into Zoos Victoria’s ongoing commitment to fight extinction of the 21 most at-risk species in Victoria. That’s a mighty good cause.

Friday, January 26 – The Teskey Brothers, supported by Saskwatch
Saturday, January 27 – Cut Copy, with special guests
Friday, February 2 – Sunnyboys, supported by Painters and Dockers
Sunday, February 4 – The Cat Empire, supported by Allysha Joy
Friday, February 9 – The Preatures, supported by Ali Barter
Saturday, February 10 – Rockwiz Live!
Saturday, February 17 – Ben Folds, supported by Lucy Rose
Friday, February 23 – Neil & Liam Finn, with special guests
Friday, March 2 – Hiatus Kaiyote and Harvey Sutherland
Saturday, March 3 – Jet, supported by Spazzys
Friday, March 9 – Grizzly Bear, with special guests
Saturday, March 10 – Kate Miller-Heidke with string quartet, supported by Odette

Hmm, that February 2 one looks pretty cool – and just confirming that March 9’s headliner is the New York band, not one of the zoo’s attractions.
