In conjunction with her headline billing at Bluesfest 2017, musician, performance poet and best-selling author Patti Smith has announced she’ll be performing the entirety of her seminal 1975 album Horses at two extra shows in April next year.

From Bluesfest Touring:

It has been eight years since Patti Smith ‘the godmother of punk’ last toured Australia, and nearly 41 years since the release of her first and most celebrated recording Horses. Horses was conceived to be, in her description, “three chord rock merged with the power of the word.”

She will be accompanied by two members of the original group, Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty, bassist / keyboardist Tony Shanahan, who has been a part of her band for twenty years and Jack Petruzzelli to perform Horses in its entirety during this not-to-be missed tour, as well as several time-honoured favourites.
